Software
IppStar provides software demonstrations of printing, publishing, and packaging related software applications. The centre will demonstrate operating systems and networking software as well.

Software Demonstration, Workshops and User Groups
The software to be demonstrated will include all major illustration, layout, retouching, web design, signage, proofing and document handling applications such as Quark Xpress, InDesign, Pagmaker, Illustrator, Freehand, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Cumulus Canto and Acrobat. Fonts and font management, imposition, trapping, colour calibration, profiling and management software, RIPS and applications for variable data printing, Indian language and script packages will be demonstrated. Editorial and publishing systems, and packaging design and production software will also be demonstrated.

Worshops and software user group meetings will be regularly held at the centre. In addition on line user groups are maintained.

Training, Sales and Integration
IppStar will become an authorised reseller and one-stop shop for the sale of the software that it demonstrates and will also provide specification and integration services. The centre provides complete technical information, backup, upgrades, and training for software applications and systems in cooperation with the software manufacturers and distributors. Application training in Quark Xpress, Adobe Indesign, Acrobat and Photoshop commenced in January 2002. Among the successful projects was the on-site training at a Hindi newspaper for Quark 4.1 in the first half of 02.
