Agfa donates scanner to IppStar 23Jan02
Agfa India has donated a DuoScan HiD to the new IppStar centre in Noida. This is a much needed addition to the Colour Management and Training lab that is being set up at the industry sponsored resource centre. The scanner will be immediately put to use in conjunction with the evaluation work being done there on HP's new DesignJet 20 PS proofer and with the Epson 7500P acquired by the centre last year.
The scanner will be put to use as well during the first four-day application software course on QuarkXpress 4.1 being held from January 29 to February 1.
IppStar has recently announced membership details and the centre is beginning to gather further industry support for its visionary self-moving project. Although sometimes humorously described as an NGO (a non-government or non-profit organisation), the new company aims to finance its activities by building revenue streams from membership, consultancy and software sales to the vertical markets of the publishing, printing and packaging industry.
